Description:
The Phoenix bird rests on a cracked podium made of mirrors in a nest that is still smoldering. According to the legend, the bird prepares a nest every 500 years to die in. The nest is set on fire and through the ashes a Phoenix is reborn. In this sculpture the cycle has been broken and his time of death is paralyzed. The podium has cracked from the heat of the flames and the Phoenix is stuck in a self-reflecting time loop.
