Talent Scout was created in collaboration with Norwegian artist and filmmaker Trygve Luktvasslimo. A bronze Shure 55 microphone, complete with its stand, is installed on a rocky outcrop in Kunstpark Tranøy, surrounded by the sea and mountains of northern Norway.
The iconic microphone, usually associated with stages, studios and the amplified human voice, is placed here in an entirely different setting. Facing the open sea and the mountains of Lofoten on the horizon, the microphone becomes an unexpected presence in the landscape.
Kunstpark Tranøy is an open-air sculpture park on the coast of northern Norway, where contemporary artworks are situated directly within the landscape.
The work was created in 2016 and is part of the park's permanent collection.
